Cape Cod by the Sand - Evelyn Jess (Official Music Video)🎶🎥 Dedicated to Dad with Love💙 There are so many things to be thankful for this season and a constant blessing for me throughout my life has been my Dad, Sandy Bemister. He has taught me the kind of love that involves commitment and sacrifice. There wasn't a day where I didn't see him work like the dog to have what we had as a family. He showed me the value of hard work and what it is to display pride in one's craft - like his father before him. He purchased a bungalow in Musgrave Harbour in 1988 after he had sold his oh so beloved Chevy Van which left him enough to have the dwelling moved via tractor-trailer (those really were the days!) next to his parents house in Ragged Harbour that allowed me to grow up right next to my grandparents Evelyn & Walter. I was gifted my Grandmother's name into Jessica Evelyn when I came along in the late Winter of the following year and my stage name Evelyn Jess is a tribute to her in her memory as she passed when I was 7 💐 Family has always been the best support for me - blood and chosen families alike. As a artist and a songwriter it's where I draw most of my inspiration from. How thankful I am to have a skill that allows me to crystalize a moment in time into a song that can live on for generations to come. Like my sweet young nephew who is featured at the end of this film along with my deadly brother Adam and my unwavering Mom, Sarah. As a artist, I am also extremely grateful for my amazing team who supports me, lifts me, encourages me, and believes in me to no end. These productions as well as myself would absolutely be nothing without them. My heart overflows with gratitude everyday for the wonderful people who continue to grace my path and bring my creative dreams to life. I DO NOT DESERVE YOU! 'Waves' is an original composition inspired by the unwavering spirit of outport Newfoundland & Labrador townspeople, their resilience and their willingness to keep their beloved hometowns on the map. Shot along the shores of Shalloway Beach in one-take, as the sun was setting by director Roger Maunder. Shalloway lies between coastal towns Deadman's Bay which is Evelyn Jess' Mother's place of birth, and Ragged Harbour which is her Father's place of birth. Keeping the family connection strong, Jess' Brother often brings his motorhome to camp on the shores of Shalloway along with his son, who shares his aunt's the love of the ocean. Dedicated to Ragged Harbour, the Town of Musgrave Harbour and all the hard-working people of small outport towns in Newfoundland & Labrador.
